The James Bond Theme (from 'SPECTRE')"
Thomas Newman

Volume I

The first complete body of work produced through the EZRA practice.

Volume I brings together artworks developed through sustained attention to a single life.

Photographs, objects, writing, sound, video, found materials, and architecture exist alongside one another throughout the installation.

Each work begins somewhere specific.

A photograph taken.
An object kept.
A place returned to.
A song repeated.
A relationship remembered.
A change noticed.

Over time, these materials find relationships with one another and take form as works.

Installed together, they form Volume I.

THE EXHIBITION

Volume I is experienced in relation.

There is no prescribed route through the installation and no single narrative connecting every work.

A visitor may encounter one work before understanding its relationship to another. An object across the room may change how an earlier photograph is seen. A song may reveal something an image does not. A relationship may become visible immediately or only after leaving.

The architecture of The Rigley Field is part of this encounter.

Works occupy walls, corners, furniture, thresholds, and surfaces throughout the gallery. Light and sound change the conditions in which they are seen.

The exhibition holds these relationships together without resolving them into one meaning.

THE WORKS

Each work has its own origin.

ENCOUNTER VOLUME I

Volume I is currently installed at The Rigley Field in Nashville, Indiana.

The installation continues to change as new works enter the practice and existing relationships develop.
