Fragments
2025–2026
Mixed-media assemblage

Fragments occupies the entire alcove and brings together fragments from different periods of the artist’s life.

At its base, pieces of intentionally broken MUD Australia dishware are contained together in a plastic bin alongside other objects collected over time.

A pair of Common Projects shoes.
A Caran d’Ache pen case.
A Byredo scent.
A seahorse sandbox toy found on eastern Long Island.
A cup.
A spoon.
A cloth carrying a bloodstain from the artist’s hand.

The bin sits inside a cardboard fruit crate that belonged to Grandfather. The crate is supported at each corner by stacks of books.

Hung along the left wall are garments from different periods of the artist’s life, including two costumes and a T-shirt from later on.

Centered on the wall is a poster from when The Met took over the former Whitney Museum building. Written directly on the glass is a Data Frame stating:

“Everything is temporary.”

Above it, a shelf holds a gifted rolling pin, a bug light, and a canvas bag containing the empty cartridges from the Instax packs used throughout Volume I.

Broken things and intact things are held together in the same space.

Nothing has been put back together.
