Each location enters the archive at a particular moment in time.

Some are encountered once.

Others are returned to across years.

Photography, observation, and other records preserve enough of each place to make return possible—even when the place itself has changed or can no longer be revisited.

The Fieldwork is organized geographically.

Each location holds its own accumulation of images, observations, and records.

Returned to over time, relationships can become visible within a place, between places, and across different periods of life.

Every encounter becomes part of the record.
