Sea Crossing
Sea Crossing preserves a single ferry crossing in continuous sequence.
Photographed on July 5, 2026, while traveling by ferry from Portland to Peaks Island, Maine, the series records the gradual movement across Casco Bay as it was experienced over the course of the crossing.
Rather than reducing the crossing to a single photograph, the artist preserved it through continuous observation, recording successive moments as the landscape, water, and sky unfolded.
Each image preserves the exact conditions under which it was captured through its accompanying metadata, including time, location, camera settings, and recording information.
Each photograph is a complete archival fragment.
Together, the sequence preserves an experience that could not be represented by a single frame.
