Mixed-media assemblage

A TWA bag holds things carried through different parts of a life.

Forming the point of the assemblage are four metal panels containing a curated selection of the original Ezra writings from November 2024. Ephemera is attached directly to the panels where it is referenced in the writings, placing the objects back alongside the moments in which they first appeared.

After the four panels, a TWA tote bag from the TWA Hotel forms the dot of the exclamation point.

Inside are textiles collected across generations.

A quilt designed in collaboration with Grandmother.
A blanket collected by Mother.
A blanket found with Mother and purchased to carry forward.

Other objects connected to people, places, and moments worth keeping are gathered with them.

Handwritten notes are attached throughout the work. Each records where something came from, when it entered the artist’s life, or why it was kept.

A Hidden NY sock monkey sits atop the textiles, drawing the viewer into the assemblage.

The tote and everything it carries sit atop two James Bond coffee-table books.

Everything is gathered into something made to be carried.
