Twenty Altoids tins are arranged on a high-top table.

Each tin contains objects and fragments from the artist’s life.

Photographs.
Small objects.
Textiles.
Currency.
Found things.
Things kept over time.

A small locket containing a childhood photograph of the artist is one example. Across the twenty tins, layers of meaning from different people, places, and periods are contained separately but presented together.

To the left of the tabletop, a stack of twenty Data Frames is nestled inside a cup holder.

The viewer is invited to pick them up one at a time and match each Data Frame with its corresponding Altoids tin. There are twenty Data Frames for twenty tins.

The answer is not given. The viewer has to look at what each tin contains, read the information held in the Data Frame, compare details, and recognize the relationship between them.

The game extends beyond the tins themselves. The Data Frames also account for objects immediately surrounding the tabletop, including the Alvar Aalto stool and family VHS tapes positioned to the right of the table.

Individual objects hold their own histories. Inside the tins, those histories are stacked together. Across the table, they become twenty small collections whose relationships only become clear through looking closely.

Twenty tins. Twenty Data Frames. Find the match.
