Be Quick.
2025–2026
Mixed-media assemblage

A black panel holds objects, fragments, words, symbols, and things collected over time.

Some are immediately visible. Others are hidden behind pieces that can be moved by hand.

To see everything, you have to touch the work.

Moving one thing can reveal another. What you find depends on where you look and what you choose to move.

The larger assemblage forms an exclamation point from the floor up.

At its base, a Sears kitchen cabinet from the original Rigley family home in town forms the dot. The cabinet was later brought to The Rigley Field and repurposed in its kitchen. Its doors have been removed and preserved.

Above it, a Vitra Utensilo forms the first dash of the exclamation point. A signed photograph from an M&M’s commercial starring Danny DeVito forms the second.

Surrounding them, custom brass rods are bent into exclamation points and extend from the wall. They hold family Christmas ornaments, including handmade ornaments preserved across multiple generations.

Two specimens sit atop the cabinet. Shells is enclosed and preserved in glass; opposite it, a fern is encased in resin.

Between the two specimens, a miniature orb illuminates the assemblage, casting light and shadows across the wall and room.

The work never has to look exactly the same twice.
