The Rigley Field

The Rigley Field is a ten-acre property in Nashville, Indiana, and the home and studio of Seth / Ezra Dager.

The house, gallery, studio, pond, land, objects, and changing environment are part of the conditions in which the work is made and lived with.

Volume I is currently installed here.

The Rigley Field is both a place where the work happens and part of the work itself.

Before Dager lived here, the property was built and inhabited by the artist Frederick W. Rigley.

Traces of that earlier life remain throughout the house and land—in its architecture, objects, drawings, materials, and landscape.

They have been kept where possible rather than erased.

The history of the place continues alongside what happens here now.

The Rigley Field is home, studio, gallery, and subject.

Work develops throughout the property. Objects move between use and observation. Photographs record changes in the house and land. Notes accumulate beside artworks. The gallery changes as new works appear and existing works are seen differently.

The property is photographed and documented as it changes over time.

Life and work happen in the same place.
